For df: Yes! We're in the mood to ask all sorts of bizarre questions at the judicial committee!
Against df: It's a man's heart that commits the sin.

i just happened to read a news article from some months ago about doctors having performed a successful penis transplant.
the recipient lost his due to cancer, and doctors expect him to gain full use of his "new" penis, including sexual activities.
considering some of the more goofy interpretations of doctrine that the gooberning body trots out that the rank and file must obey under penalty of shunning i wonder if a man had this surgery, would he and or his wife be df'd for adultery?

i could never understand why some people who know the truth about the "truth" ever go back.
once you understand all the hypocrisy and negatives, i would think it's almost impossible to go back!.
i read on another thread how this site has helped another user and that for them it has been a form of therapy.. for me yes, jwn has most certainly been a form of therapy.. i recall the days i first came to jwn (in 2004) and couldn't believe i had found people who were of the same opinion as myself in regards to the society.
it was this site that led me to reading ray franz's book 'crisis of conscience' which i read twice within a week.
it also led me to jw facts that goes into every nook and cranny regarding the society's teachings, policies and history.. note: i also visit many other sites and watch you tube videos a lot, but gravitate here most of the time.. coming here to express my inner most thoughts and feelings has helped me no end and allows me to overcome my frustrations.
Do you find it therapeutic coming to this site?
Yes, especially the social/political threads and encouraging posters who have recently come out of the JWs.

“I was sexually abused by a Jehovah’s Witness elder as a child”
Tara was an innocent 8-year-old when a religious elder abused her.
Tara, 35, from Queensland shares her story:
As I browsed the shelves in my local supermarket, a familiar green label caught my eye.
It’s just a tin of Milo, I tried to tell myself.
I don't get it. What does a tin of Milo have to do with her situation? How did it trigger her memory?
there is no way in hell that these brainwashed fools will cease making nukes.

what does everyone think of the new executive order on religious liberty?
this would include a weakening of the johnson amendment so churches will be freer to either contribute to political campaigns and/or promote a candidate from the pulpit.
.
"Why should the state restrict the church's ability to do so?"
The unspoken arrangement is this. A church is given the privilege of not paying taxes because authoritarian governments, that might not like a particular church, might increase their taxes.
On the other hand, churches are prohibited from getting involved in politics because authoritarian churches might unduly influence the government to their liking. They can say whatever they want in their churches but organizing campaigns in the public is not allowed.
Until Mike Pence came along (Trump's puppeteer) this arrangement worked well.

I believe that religious right wingers will be ecstatic until left leaning churches such as most Catholic churches start doing the same. If any church/religion were to be selectively prohibited from doing so then all hell will break loose.
Freemindfade: "But you got some serious pharma fat asses rolling in dough."
At least we agree on one thing. One of my medications was charged at $1,000 per month. I blew a fuse when I saw that even though I wasn't paying for it. I thought of having the doctor prescribe me generic but, when I saw the price for that at $600, I decided to go off of it. It wasn't too effective any way.
Next they'll be billing you for a cup of water at the hospital. Ten bucks?
When all is said and restated it all boils down to one thing. Canada has a life expectancy 81.9 years. The United States 79.8. Canadians live 2 years longer than Americans.
just a heads-up that i will be testing some updates this evening.. the nature of the changes means it's difficult to test every scenario in advance offline (translation: it's a lot more effort and i just can't be bothered) so i'm going to go with the "wing-it" approach:.
deploy, check for errors, try to fix errors before anyone else notices them.. i can switch between the new and old version pretty quickly so if there are significant issues, i'll rollback and revert the changes while i work on the fixes.
worse case is the pages won't display quite right (dates might be a giveaway) but a full page refresh should fix things.. http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/.
I hate to be making a lot of posts but as soon as I see a problem I cannot edit a post to put more info.
Here's another one; the commentary box does not have bolding, italics and other functions just emoticons.
